Hatcher Pass: April Bowl

A stunning hidden gem nestled atop a hillside at the summit of Hatcher Pass, this beautiful tarn surrounded by mountain peaks and hardy alpine shrubbery is one of my favorite places on earth. Follow the trail for less than a mile up the hill via gentle switchbacks, gaining about 800' of elevation, to the Twin Lakes. Fall here is perfect for golden light, but this trail is typically accessible July-October. A  $5 parking fee (or Chugach Park Pass), no bathroom access.
