Portage Pass

A decently challenging hike, just under a mile and just under 1000' of elevation gain to the top (about 30-45 minutes up for my out of shape self), but the best payoff-to-work ratio I've ever seen. Views of the Passage Canal on one side, the sprawling Portage Glacier on the other, and you high up on a green-dotted rocky hill in between. There's usually a few other people, but it's a big enough space that it's never been a problem. The trailhead is just past the Whittier Tunnel, which has timed access and requires a toll. No parking fee, no bathroom.
