Let’s get to know each other
I like grain (both carb and film varieties)
I was born and raised in Washington state. Low-lying clouds and evergreen trees are in my bloodstream. I wear a lot of flannel. I have, by some blessing of the cosmos, become a photographer for people who don't like to be photographed – This is my purpose in life. To be awkward enough that you'll feel like the cool one or quiet enough that you won't know I'm there. It's the role I've been preparing for my whole life. All you gotta do is show up and be you, and we'll get along.
A little about me
01.
I’m Amanda
I am a nerd and a weirdo and I will out-awkward you on any photo shoot.
02.
Perspective
I love people and uniqueness and I believe every body is a beautiful body that deserves to be celebrated how and where it is in life.
03.
Photography
A love of photojournalism grew into a passion for documenting moments in real peoples' lives so they can get nostalgic about them later.

Interesting Fact
In 2022 I 100% completed Skyrim and I'm pretty sure it's the proudest moment of my life.
I'm a 30-something, night sky loving, '90s grunge and flannel addict who can't get enough horror podcasts and who won't stop picking up rocks. I'm not a fan of ideologies; I like the imperfect, and I like a little chaos and a little darkness in my work. I have a degree in photography with an emphasis in photojournalism and portraiture, and when I graduated college I had the full intention of becoming a war photographer, falling in love with the visual medium of storytelling and the opportunity to help people see things they wouldn't have known to look for from the outside. Soon after graduating I got married and realized the in-the-line-of-fire career I'd picked out wasn't an option anymore, so I took the journalistic style I'd been working with and started documenting the most special, chaotic times of people's lives, helping them see parts of their story they may not have known to look for in the bustle.
James is a red-bearded walking sports database with a special love of baseball and hiking and spreadsheets, and it's actually a little infuriating how quickly he picked up photography when he started assisting me on weddings as we were first started out. He's been my muse and my tireless carrier of camera bags up steep hills for over a decade now and I legitimately wouldn't be doing this all without him. He'll also carry rocks for me, so you know he's special.
So let's be friends and let's go make something rad. Let's document what brings you joy, what you're working on, what scares you, what excites you. Let's get real and forget the pretense. Let's get vulnerable and show the world how it's done. Let's climb a mountain or book some studio time. Let's talk about what you want to share with the world, or what you want to create just for yourself. Let's make it happen.
